CRITICAL REFLECTION: NINE LIES ABOUT WORK #8

The purpose of this critical reflection is to help you reflect deeply and use creative thinking to develop your own ideas and opinions into a logical, clear analysis.

After reading and watching the following video on LIE #8: LIFE-WORK BALANCE MATTERS MOST, complete the following:

You are expected to write a one-to-two-page paper that incorporates all of the questions listed below. Your document should follow proper APA guidelines: 1-inch margins, 12-point font Times New Roman, and double-spaced. You don't need to include a title page, but include a heading with name, instructor, course, and date in the left-hand corner of the paper. Make sure your critical reflection has a clear and appropriate beginning, development, and conclusion. Structure your answers in a logical manner and use strong and consistent transitions between points.Use effective sentence structure and grammar to enhance your ideas. Refine and edit your writing until it is polished. Do not submit a rough draft.

LIE #8: LIFE-WORK BALANCE MATTERS MOST

  • Why is it so difficult to find a work/life balance? How do you think your current "student" working lives make balance harder to find?
  • Even if you were to find balance, what problems would this lead to for you?
  • What is the difference between 'boundaries' and 'balance'?
  • Can you describe at least three 'red threads' in your work life, and three in your home life?
  • How do you think love and loathe in work fit into the life of Jesus Christ while He was on the earth?

TRUTH #8: LOVE-IN-WORK MATTERS MOST (because that's what work is really for)

  • What's yourbiggest breakthroughfrom this chapter and explain your reasoning.
  • Based on what you have learned this week, what will youdo differentlyon Monday? (As a team member, as a leader, as a parent, partner, or friend?)

After studying this chapter and learning about this LIE & TRUTH beginning:

On Monday, I willSTOP
